MyBond is disrupting the rental market and innovating how tenants pay for their rental bonds. With an ever-growing pool of customers nationwide, MyBond is looking for an experienced collections officer to join the tribe. They will play a vital role in supporting MyBond's growth ambitions and ensuring that customers who do lose part of their bond are supported throughout their repayment journey.

As such, there is a massive demand for this service and requires passionate, dedicated and driven specialists that serve new and existing clients and represent this forward-thinking company with pride and professionalism.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Review current MyBond collection policies and make recommendations on improving the policy aligned with relevant legislation.
  • Overseeing staff members and ensuring the accurate and timely invoicing of customers.
  • Setting payment collection goals and targets for the department.
  • Creating and implementing a strategy to improve the collection of outstanding credit.
  • Implementing collection policies and procedures to avoid excessive outstanding credit.
  • Ensuring that the company policy on recoveries is followed and that it is in line with state and federal regulations.
  • Implementing deadlines for invoicing and payment collection.
  • Negotiating with customers in cases when non-payment occurs.
  • Preparing monthly feedback reports on payment collections.
  • Remaining informed of any legislative procedural training regarding debt collection.
  • Training and mentoring of staff members in the collections department.
  • Certificate 4 in Credit Management
  • Conduct investigations and skip tracing to locate customers

    Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to;

  • Contribute to the growth of our customer service offering
  • Triage & respond to customer enquiries via support channels (email, socials & phone)
  • Action customer service priorities for customers via your personalised dashboard
  • Accurately understand a customers account status (and escalate where necessary) to ensure accuracy of customer communication
  • Action hardship requests in accordance with company policy
  • Proven ability to write & improve process documentation and customer experience improvements
  • Positively impact team culture

  • Essential Criteria

  • Experience in a call centre or customer service within real estate, finance, retail, hospitality, tourism, sales or similar industries
  • A natural problem solver and solution provider
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong empathy, customer service oriented & excellent people skills
  • Internal stakeholder management
  • Proactive, self-starter and disciplined
  • Planning, organising and time-management skills
  • Decision making and problem solving skills with good judgment and within authority
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrates success at managing high-volume workloads and deadlines
  • A desire to learn and take on feedback
  • Must be an Australian Resident and available to work from our office in Sydney CBD on a permanent full-time basis
